From the West Side to Worldwide was created as a visual biography of Robert “Pikin” Quiroga — tracing his story from childhood on San Antonio’s West Side through boxing, championship success, family and legacy.
Rather than treating the wall as a single portrait, Mike built the composition around Quiroga’s name. Photographs and memories are embedded inside the oversized letterforms, allowing the mural to read as both monument and archive.
The newspaper-style background ties the imagery together with the language of headlines, history and public memory, while a central fighting portrait gives the wall its visual climax.
